Seismic refraction profiling

Seismic refraction profiling is a geophysical method used to determine subsurface layer velocities and depths by analyzing the travel times of refracted seismic waves. It is commonly applied in engineering, environmental, and geological studies to map bedrock, groundwater tables, and other subsurface features.

Electrical resistivity profiling

Electrical resistivity profiling is a geophysical method used to map subsurface variations by measuring the resistance of the ground to electrical current flow. It is commonly used for groundwater exploration, environmental studies, and geological investigations to identify soil layers, fractures, and buried structures.

Multichannel analysis if surface wave

Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) is a geophysical technique used to evaluate subsurface shear wave velocity by analyzing surface wave dispersion. It is commonly applied in geotechnical engineering, earthquake hazard assessments, and soil characterization to determine subsurface stiffness and stratigraphy.

Electromagnetic profiling

Electromagnetic (EM) profiling is a geophysical method that measures variations in the subsurface conductivity using electromagnetic fields to detect different materials and structures. It is widely used in environmental studies, mineral exploration, and groundwater investigations to identify buried objects, contamination plumes, and geological formations.

Cross hole seismic surveys

Cross-hole seismic surveys are a geophysical method used to measure the velocity of seismic waves between boreholes to determine subsurface material properties with high accuracy. This technique is commonly applied in geotechnical engineering, site characterization, and earthquake hazard assessments to evaluate soil and rock stiffness, detect fractures, and assess ground stability.

Our Clients Say

WORK WITH US

Sorensen Civil Engineering has used Hydro Survey on many of our marine and land-based projects. Hugh and is team have and continue to provide an excellent service and are extremely professional in their project delivery.

— Brian Snow

Operations Director | Sorensen

We engaged Terra Survey to undertake an extensive geophysical survey of existing flood defences predominantly to the west of Limerick City. We were particularly interested in understanding the depths of any soft soils and the potential presence of karstic features in the bedrock. Terra Survey reviewed our proposed survey and advised on tweaks to optimise the survey to ensure we gathered all of the required information. Terra Survey’s site team undertook the survey promptly in very challenging terrain. The report produced by Terra Survey on completion of the fieldworks was to a very high standard. We were delighted with Terra Surveys inputs to the project and we look forward to working with them again in the near future.
