History

Our story begins in 1979 when Barry Jenkins and Michael Haberlin who had both been involved in the placement of the Alpha and Bravo platforms in the Kinsale Gas Field, opened our first office in Crosshaven, Co. Cork. From there they began offering a very niche marine survey service, the likes of which had not seen previously in Ireland. the country.

For the first year of the business was based out of Mike’s spare bedroom. Barry brought with him his training as a Surveyor, having worked for the Royal Engineers and Decca. Mike brought experience from working overseas in both the Caribbean and Pacific as a Hydrographic Surveyor for the Royal Naval Hydrographic Service. Fast forward 44 years and the company has experienced technological advances from the introduction of GNSS positioning, sonar technological advancements as well as GIS and geophysical data processing methods and software.

Whilst the technological advances are vast and have been embraced however, as a company, we still retain a focus on applying experience and knowledge to state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
