Hydro Survey, commissioned by DP Energy, conducted a comprehensive geophysical survey of the Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park site off the coast of County Cork, Ireland.
The survey, carried out in September 2022, involved the deployment of advanced technologies such as Ultra-High-Resolution Seismic (UHRS), multibeam, and multibeam backscatter to map the underwater landscape in detail.
The survey vessel, ILV Granuaile, equipped with state-of-the-art seismic equipment, collected high-quality data over a period of six days. Real-time quality control ensured optimal data acquisition, and subsequent onshore processing enhanced the data’s clarity and interpretability.
The resulting detailed ground model revealed significant geological features, including buried valleys and fault structures, providing critical insights for the development of a sustainable marine energy park. This project highlights Hydro Survey’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions for renewable energy projects.
